PRIVATE LESSONS

Private lessons are the best way to not only learn the principles of the Classical Pilates Method, the order of the exercises, and equipment setup, but also to identify the individual strengths, weaknesses and nuances of your body and how to correct, adjust and retain the body for optimal health. Each 55-minute private lesson is personalized based on the needs of the student on the day of the lesson.

When we move in our bodies, the body chooses the path of least resistance. If you are experiencing pain or have an injury or weakness, it is common to disconnect from these areas. This in turn, leads us to over or under use muscles, creating poor posture and over prolonged periods of time, structural changes. Private lessons are designed to work on each individual's needs, tailoring the pace, style and cues to achieve maximum benefit.

DUETS & TRIOS

For clients who want to keep their sessions to two participants only, the duet is offered. Duet sessions are ideal for individuals who are at the same fitness level, have similar movement habits or have the same level of Pilates experience. Trios are groups of three students. Duets and trios are available on all Pilates apparatus and with mat routines. Duets and trios are booked in advance and a 10-week minimum is required.
GROUP PILATES MAT CLASS

A Pilates mat routine consists of 34 original exercises. The mat work is designed to keep spinal flexibility and health at any age. Focus is placed on precise movements originating from the center or core of your body. Working for, the deepest layers of muscles, which stabilize and support your spine and pelvis, resulting in a strong, flexible spine with ideal posture and alignment. Classes emphasize the foundational principals of Pilates while offering modifications and variations to suit each students' individual needs.

The entire mat routine should ideally take 35 minutes to practice daily, but it can take years to achieve proficiency. Joseph Pilates himself realized early on that even his most elite dancers and athletes couldn't perform mat exercises with the vigor and zest he was asking for, which is why he developed apparatus.
GROUP PILATES TOWER CLASS

Tower class incorporates a series of Pilates exercises performed on the "Cadillac". The "Cadillac" was originally and old hospital bed with the 'trapeze' or traction bar hanging from a four post frame.

Joseph Pilates attached springs to give the body resistance and teach how to work from the core. This creation is one of his most famous pieces of apparatus along with the reformer.

If you have only taken mat classes in your Pilates training,

you are really missing out!

These classes are a wonderful way to begin or end a long day. Beginners will learn to use the spring tension to create mind-body connections and awareness, as a student progresses expect to build strength, length,  flexibility, endurance and physical stamina.

We offer on-going small group mat and tower classes for committed students who want to learn and practice Pilates classical mat and tower exercises on a regular basis.
